Welcome Back To School – Returning Responsibly

This message is for parents of students in  Pre-K, Kindergarten, first, and Special Education on a modified curriculum in Kindergarten thru fifth grades, who choose a face to face delivery model of instruction.

We welcome students back to school at Bright and Johnson on October 5. Please remember to take your child’s temperature at home and ensure that they are wearing their facial covering before they enter the school no earlier than 7:45 a.m. at  Bright and 8:00 a.m. at Johnson. School begins at 8:35 a.m. and ends at 2:05 p.m. for Pk, K, and 1 and 3:05 for modified curriculum students in grades  2 thru 5.

At Bright, parents of Special Education students will park in the Media Center parking lot at Bright and school employees will assist students to their classrooms beginning at 7:55 a.m. Special Education students will be received at Johnson starting at 8:10  a.m.

Students must follow all social distancing guidelines and traffic flow arrows in hallways throughout the building. Designated personnel will help assist students.

All students will report directly to their classrooms in the morning where they will be supervised and served breakfast. We are encouraging all students to leave their computer devices at home. Safety protocols will be reviewed with all students and will be strictly enforced throughout he school day.  

Lunch will be served in the classrooms.

At Bright, Special Education students will be dismissed from the Media Center gate near the Media Center parking lot area on 26 Street to their parents starting at 1:55 p.m. for first graders and 2:55 p.m. for students in grades 2-5. Special Education students will be dismissed at Johnson to their parents at 1:50 p.m.  Please park in parking lot assigned to you and follow social distancing protocols when picking up your child. Masks must be worn by parents for dismissal.  

Parents of general education students at Bright and Johnson are strongly encouraged to utilize the parent drive thru to pick up their child for safety reasons starting at 2:05. p.m. There is no need for parents to get out of their cars.

It is our goal to provide the safest learning environment possible for all children and your support is greatly appreciated.
