Principal’s Message

James H. Bright/J.W. Johnson Parents, Students, Staff, and all Stakeholders.

I am humbled by the opportunity to serve as the principal of this remarkable school, and I will continue to uphold the strong tradition of providing academic excellence for all our students.

As a lifelong learner, I adhere to the belief that learning takes place both in and out of the classroom. My experience over 32 years as an educator and administrator, has taught me the important of providing all learners the tools that they need to succeed and instilling the importance of putting forth maximum effort and determination to ensure success. My goal is for all scholars to feel supported, confident, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.

During the 2023-24 school year, I encourage you to partner with your child’s teacher to establish and maintain open lines of communication. Please attend family nights, EESAC meetings, join PTA, and consider volunteering your time and talent to promote the development and overall positive experience we strive to provide daily. Open communication and collaboration are critical to our success. Education is a shared responsibility and student daily attendance is critical. We provide a safe learning environment and inspire every child to reach beyond their dreams. This is why MDCPS is Your Best Choice!

Sincerely,

Claudine Winsor
Principal
